Emmanuel Ekon Sponsored Trainees Graduate from Samsung Heavy Industries

Today, another batch of trainees from Samsung Heavy Industries sponsored by Hon. Emmanuel Ekon (member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency) received their international certifications by the International Institute of Welders.

Mr. Kim from Welding Qualification Centre, who disclosed this in an interview with Akwa Ibom INFO, said that the trainees who were thoroughly in welding now have the capacity to operate as certified welders anywhere across the world.
According to the management, the graduating trainees are expected to take advantage of the skills and knowledge in the oil and gas industry, boost local content development and job creation.
Reacting to the development, Enotobong Frank Ibanga, one of the trainees thanked the lawmaker for instituting the training which has so far benefitted over 500 trainees within Nigeria with more than half from Akwa Ibom State, stressing that beyond equipping youths for future opportunities, the training remains the best form of empowerment that is enduring and sustainable.
Present at the event were officials from  Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Barr. Kiki and Sampson Erefa and top executives of Samsung Heavy Industries led by Mr. Shin Dong-Bin (Chief Executive Officer) and Mr. William Grant.
